JEDDAH: The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) signed an air transport memorandum of understanding (MOU) meant to regulate air traffic rights and the operational framework that exists between Saudi Arabia and Qatar in Doha.

The agreement was signed from the Saudi side by the Assistant to the President of GACA for Security, Safety and Transportation, AbdulhakeemAlbadur, and from the Qatari side by the President of the Qatari General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdullah Al-Subaie.

As a result, the signing of the appendix to the agreement resulted in the lifting of the operating right of regular passenger and air cargo traffic between the two countries and the inclusion of two destination points — Madinah and Taif — within international airports under the agreed schedules routes.

The signing of the annex comes within the framework of promoting the development of air transport between the two countries and in addition to enhancing the cooperation in the field of air transport and contributing to the development of economic activities between the Kingdom and Qatar.
