GACA planning new tariff for air services

JEDDAH — The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) represented by its air navigational sector held a consultative meeting in Jeddah recently with airline companies using Saudi Arabian airspace to inform them of the strategic plan of the sector and the new tariff for the services provided.

The meeting which was chaired by the Assistant to the President for Air Navigation Dr. Saleh Alghamdi, came in the context of the significant role and the mighty effort undertaken by GACA to modernize air navigation systems on an ongoing basis and to keep pace with the latest technological developments in the world. All in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recommendation.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Saudi Arabian Airlines, Saudi Aramco, Air Arabia, Nas Air, Qatar Airways, Emirates Airlines, Royal Jordanian Airlines, Egypt Air and Turkish Airlines.

A presentation of the strategic plan for the sector and the new tariff for the services provided was presented in the meeting. These include, the increase of the current tariff for flights in transit and the introduction of the new fees for approach services.

The Assistant to GACA President for Air Navigation said Air Navigational sector will hold periodic meetings with the airlines in an effort to develop its services and reach a high level of customer satisfaction, which in turn will have a positive effect on the level of safety and performance. — SG
